The membership process for joining Standish Cycling Club has changed. Even if you are a renewing club member, please read the following carefully.
Membership to the club runs yearly starting on 1st February and ending on 31st January the following year. Yearly membership costs £20. However, for anyone wanting to join after 1st September during the year, this fee is reduced to £10. This shorter and cheaper membership also expires on 31st January the following year.
Membership gains you access to the following.

The full catalogue of SCC rides both summer and winter.

Access to the group insurance policy for group rides (This does not cover solo rides or rides not organised by the club. This is only public liability insurance against the club and all riders should have full cycle insurance to cover the cost of their bike and accessories.)

Access to the SCC WhatsApp group.

Membership to the SCC Strava group.
On 1st February each year, anyone who is not a paid member of the group will be removed from both the WhatsApp and the Strava groups.
New members wanting to join may have three rides with the club before they MUST pay the full membership fee.
By agreeing to join the club you are agreeing to the following;

You agree to pay the full membership cost stated above into the club bank account.

You must read and agree to both the club constitution document and the privacy policy. Both can be found at the bottom of this page.

You confirm you have your own bike insurance that covers you for any injury, liability and damage. The club only has 3rd party insurance and does not cover individuals.

You must agree to keep your bike in a roadworthy condition and to attend rides with the mandatory equipment stated on the 'Rides' page. Please read all of the 'Rides' page before agreeing to join the club.

You must agree to behave respectably when riding and representing the club, both in terms of other members and members of the public.

You must provide SCC with two emergency contacts in case of an emergency. These will be stored securely and only accessed by members of the committee in case of an emergency. These will be required every time a membership is renewed and will be deleted after 12 months.

If you have a smartphone that supports an emergency contact system (such as Apple's Medical ID feature) you must turn this on. If you are not sure how this works, please visit this website for details.

Some of our members use cameras when riding for safety purposes. This is encouraged by the group and by joining you agree to be filmed by other members of the group as a safety procedure.

It is your responsibility to notify the group of any changes to contact information, medical information and emergency contact information. The club cannot be held responsible for your failure to notify us of a change of circumstances. In all cases of change of circumstance, previously held information will be deleted and the membership form will have to be filled in again completely, re-payment will not be required unless changing circumstances at the end of the membership year.
To proceed with joining, please enter details via the Google Forms link in the membership form section below. By filling this in you agree to pay the membership fee to the bank account on the form during the process.
IMPORTANT - IF JOINING THE CLUB AFTER 1ST MARCH EACH YEAR
Once you have filled in the form and paid the fee to the club bank account, please can you send an email to standishcyclingclub@gmail.com notifying us that you have completed these two steps. The bank account and submission form have to be manually checked and aren't checked otherwise. If you do not notify us there may be a delay in you being added to the club Strava/WhatsApp.
